Another Kavanagh painting. Two years ago I spent all of our summer holiday reading and re-reading A Buttonhole in Heaven: The Mystical Imagination of Patrick Kavanagh by Una Agnew. I love the image of him strolling around his farm in hat and cardigan, having epiphanies in front of hedges and dry stone walls. I then had a few little epiphanies of my own in Frawleys Bar at Lahinch, reading A Buttonhole in Heaven: The Mystical Imagination of Patrick Kavanagh by Una Agnew and drinking pints of Guinness.
